Annual Meeting and Clergy Appreciation - November 20, 2011
At Grace Church's Annual Congregational Meeting on November 20th, church members showed their appreciation for Interim Pastor Doug Griffin by presenting him with many cards and gift certificates, a new Bible, a hand-made quilt (made by Judy Tobery) and a special song performed by Teddi Garrison and Lloyd Taylor. Following the celebration, Pastor Doug offered this note of thanks to everyone:
Su and I want to say a big "Thank You" for the generous and affectionate expressions of appreciation for my ministry, showered on us at last week's annual meeting. I was "forewarned" that the annual meeting would include a moment in honor of "Clergy Appreciation Month." I had no idea it would be such an outpouring, however! The lovely quilt and Bible were, in and of themselves, most appreciated. The many cards with such thoughtful notes and gift cards simply overwhelmed us. And what can I say: I shall never hear "Country Roads" again without smiling in remembrance of the novel performance in my honor! Thank you so very much. I really do feel APPRECIATED. And we appreciate you! Peace to you all.
