Grace UCC has many opportunities for community outreach, and we would love for you to be a part of them. In addition to the outreach activities listed below, Grace strives to meet the needs of the community as they arise so you will often here about other outreach opportunities as needed.

The Community Table

Grace UCC volunteers to serve those that are facing food insecurity at The Community Table on the Third Sunday of even numbered months.

RISE Coalition of Frederick

Grace has partnered with our neighbors at Beth Sholom Congregation to provide supplies to our immigrant neighbors through RISE Coalition of Frederick to support the families of those taken into ICE custody. Grace will be collecting the following supplies, and you are encouraged to bring your donations on Sundays. Items donated will be delivered to Frederick Alliance Church where they will be packages and delivered to the families in need. Your help is greatly appreciated!

Disaster Ministries

Members and Friends of Grace UCC, along with others from the Catoctin Association participate in Mission Trips twice a year to places that have been impacted by natural disasters. This is part of the United Church of Christ Disaster Ministries, and the trips are open to anyone regardless of skillset. There is truly something for everyone to do.

Justice and Witness Ministries:

The Justice and witness committee is responsible for the following:

    1. Informing the congregation of justice issues and encourage the congregation and wider community in addressing these issues
    2. Encouraging church members to get involved in combating injustice due to, but not limited to, race, gender identity, disability, sexual orientation, gender expression, oppressed classes, or economic disparity
    3. Overseeing the ongoing success of the congregation’s Open and Affirming (ONA) stance and promoting activities to broaden the understanding of inclusiveness for all people in the congregation’s life
    4. Overseeing the ongoing success of the congregation’s Transgender Statement of Inclusion to broaden its understanding of our Transgender, non-binary and Gender Expansive siblings
    5. Encouraging and supporting efforts to care for the environment as God’s gift to humanity
    6. Promoting peace among people and advocating for just and nonviolent resolutions of conflict
    7. Assist any ministries with the work that God has called them to do.

Financial Support to Organizations:

Grace UCC provides financial support to various organizations throughout Frederick County and beyond. Examples of these organizations are Habitat for Humanity, Beyond Shelter, The Heartly House, ALS Foundation, and many others.

The Good Samaritan Fund of Grace Church

This fund is designated for emergency relief to members and friends of Grace Church. Only the pastor and person in need know who receives assistance.   Donations to the fund are welcome at any time, in any amount. If you can help, please place a check in the offering plate made out to Grace Church with “Good Samaritan Fund” on the memo line.
